My First Encounter With Bryan Adams

Shannon at Your Sweet Bippy had asked me about Bryan Adams and I said we went waaaay back. I found the video posted above and wanted to share it with you. The audio & video has degraded over time so it's a real blast from the past. As far as I can remember, this was my first encounter with Bryan. I was 16 or 17 at the time and I thought he was sooo cute. Over 25 years later and my celebrity crush is still going strong. I know Kleo has a long-standing one, and lucky girl, she got to meet her crush! Anyone else have stories to share? Come on! Don't be shy!

P.S. Like 90% of the female population, I think Johnny Depp is pretty hot.

And my Thursday nights just wouldn't be complete without this guy!

Yummy!!! Great post. Leave it to a celebrity crush post to bring me out of the woodwork for a few minutes....

i hope one day you get to meet Bryan Adams for REALz...

Here are my top current choices of celeb crushes i've had for a while:
(besides Peter, of course, who has been a celeb of sorts elsewhere)

1. Barry Zito. Zen-ful, gorgeous, funny, smart, musical and athletic... LHP for the SF Giants. i knew him fairly well years ago; he would hang out at the small newspaper where i worked after some of his games, when he was in high school and tho i'm 10 years older than him, i STILL have a crush on him. He is ridiculously yummy.

2. Rick Springfield :o) i'm very disappointed in him of late as he has really "sold out" and become less of the "Karma-riffic" guy i once knew. But he's smart and witty and looks amazing, especially given that he's in his 50s.

3. "Weird Al" Yankovic - he's funny and refreshing and an absolute genius with words (see his song called "Bob") and he has "evolved" over the years and is incredibly good-looking these days. Plus he's vegan!

And from my pathetic past:

(After reading the following, you'll know better why i haven't watched TV in years!)

i used to adore both Johnny Depp and Richard Grieco when they were on "21 Jump Street" and as well i was one of many to have crushes on the entire Carver High basketball team from the old series "The White Shadow." Plus John Travolta from his "Welcome Back, Kotter" days and Henry Winkler when he was the Fonz on "Happy Days" and then there was Bob from "Sesame Street," who was probably my first huge crush. i even had a dream about him when i was about 7 years old. Frightening. And of course Peter (Christopher Knight) from "The Brady Bunch." And there was Jared Leto when he was on "my so-called life," which was the last series i ever watched (in reruns) on television...

(After reading the following my credibility as a sports writer will go down the drain, but... let's just say i've "evolved" as well over the years!)

Also, i had tons of serious crushes on baseball players over the years, mostly when i was a lot younger, starting at about age 11 and continuing to... um, well see 1. above!!! (Wait! Didn't i say i "evolved"???)

i crushed out on Carlton Fisk, Ted Simmons, Gary Carter (definitely something about catchers!) and a plethora of others.

i had some opportunities to meet (can you say "groupie"?) quite a few when i was a bit older... but that's for another place and time to discuss!

Thanks for the fun, Carrie... hope to blog soon!

I try not to crush on celebrities TOO much... but I can't help thinking Johnny Depp is one nice-looking guy (and his movies get automatic points in my personal rating book, just because he's in them, hee hee)! That's quite a fine picture you've got there, too... And if I could shoot back in time about 3 decades, Robert Plant of Led Zeppelin would have it, hands down! LOL

I'll never meet my celebrity crushes, though... Things like that don't happen to me! Fun post!

I hung a picture of Don Johnson above my bed until I got married (DH decided it was not appealing to him). I was also into Bruce Springstein a little.

When I was around 11 or 12 I was pretty sure I was gonna marry Joey McIntyre. Then I moved on to Jonathan Brandis (remember SeaQuest DSV? Ladybugs? Sidekicks?). I don’t crush on celebrities so much anymore, but Johnny Depp is one serious exception. Something about him just makes me feel all melty inside. I saw him on the MTV movie awards wearing ripped jeans, a flannel tied around his waist, with a black vest and jacket. Anyone else would look like a mid-90s fashion disaster in that get up, he just looked hot. Hell, he could be wearing a potato sack and make it look hot.

Let's see here...it seems to change all the time for me. I've never held onto one guy as a steady crush but right now I'll go with Johnny Depp, Orlando Bloom, and Hugh Jackman. Mmmmm. Yummy!
