This one is meat-free and I was very pleased with the results. Jim and I each had a big slice.
I also made mashed potatoes and vegetarian gravy, some side veggies and this:
It's Bryanna Clark Grogan's Savoury Tofu Dinner Loaf. I really like this recipe. The loaf comes out tasting similar to the turkey stuffing my grandmother used to make. Jim wasn't too keen on it, but that's OK. More leftovers for me! HA!
And at our house, we, of course, serve wine! This particular wine came into the store and never even made it out to the shelves. A few of us staff pretty much bought it all. Our product consultant, Terry, recommened it to me and I bought 3 of them. I'm really glad I did. It's very good for the price. I wish he was as good at picking the staff lotto numbers.

My Omniman would love that tourtiere. Oh la la, fa la la.
I am the first to comment - wow. Your pie looks fabulous. Bryanna has a recipe for one of the french canadian pies in her Holiday Cookbook. I have been considering it for the last couple of years, but just never got to it. Yours looks wonderful.
I got wine too... not any exquisite several year old version like yours, but I went to a wine shop and tasted dandelion, crimson cranberry, and red raspberry. DH bought me the cranberry and raspberry (cause I liked them best). The sales person told me to try the raspberry with hot cocoa - I will! They both are very sweet. I plan on having them for a Saturday family meal and also new years eve when we have friends over.
Hooray for time off!!! I'm glad you were able to enjoy yourself. The tourtiere sounds delicious. What did you make it with?
What a great idea! I will have to do this next year! This would make a great take along to all those places that have far too much meat. Hope you enjoyed some rest and relaxation on your day off! Thanks for posting on my blog!
