Did I happen to mention that we did a BIG shopping?

Also included in this trip was some Earth Balance which is available in Canada, but a bit cheaper in the States. One thing that I haven't seen yet around here is Silk yogurt. I was hoping to try the key lime flavour, but I couldn't find any. I've tried it and I really like it. It wasn't as sweet as So Nice yogurt. Also, I got some Tofurky Chipotle Franks which I see won an award from VegNews magazine. I saw these Tofutti cheese slices and thought 'What the hell' and threw them in the cart too. Anyone tried these? Are they any good?

And finally, you know I couldn't come back from the States without buying some wine. I found this great liquor store in Niagara Falls and I feel like a kid in a candy store when I'm there. I like to buy bottles that I can't get here in Ontario. I brought home quite a few bottles of California wine and this

From Idaho! (Hi Vicki!) There was a girl doing a tasting of Ste. Chapelle Riesling and it was wonderful! It was a nice crisp dry riesling and it was selling for an incredible $6.99!! Customs did charge me tax, but I ended up getting a terrific bottle of wine for less than I would pay here for something comparable. I also grabbed a Gewurztraminer for the same price. I bet I'm the only one of my friends to have wines from Idaho in my wine rack. If you can find Ste. Chapelle Riesling anywhere, I urge you to give it a try. It really is good and the price is definitely right!

Now my freezers are crammed full and we should be good for the winter. My American friends, you have no idea how much of a selection of veggie food you have. You are very lucky indeed! And I'm very lucky to live so close.

To my Canadian friends, Happy Thanksgiving! Enjoy your long weekend.

Carrie, it's so true - the selection in the US is phenomenal - I feel like a kid in a candy store when I food-shop there... and it's been TOO long for me also.

Well done with the shopping, lady! I would like to see other brands of yogurt here too. So Nice is funky at times - do you notice that? I have bought it way in advance of the best before date, and it is moldy inside. It's the only one we have here made with organic soybeans. I'd like to have the silk brand here - I think I'm going to talk to my store about that - they have the Silk soy milk, so why not some yogurt?

I'm getting the itch to shop now(yeah, thanks for that)!

Happy Thanksgiving to you too!! :)

Carrie, those Tofutti cheese slices actually melt, they make the BEST grilled cheese! We had them for dinner last night with some tomato soup. Yum!
